Payment of contribution to the Chamber and the compulsory registration of businesses

Information on the payment of contribution of HUF 5,000 to the Chamber and the compulsory registration of businesses

The Parliament amended the Law on Economic Chambers on November 21, 2011. The amendment requires that all corporate and individual companies – whether chamber members or not – shall apply for registration at the competent Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also, a contribution of HUF 5,000 shall be paid until 31 March in each year to the Chamber.

For newly established businesses registration shall be done within 5 working days following their incorporation; for the already operating businesses it had to be done until March 1, 2012.

The one-time registration obligation and the payment obligation of the contribution to the Chamber for 2012 do not apply to undertakings which were suspended permanently on and after January 1, 2012.

Obligations shall be fulfilled only 5 days after taking up the activities again. Payment obligation of the contribution to the Chamber does not apply to the undertakings which were suspended permanently on and after January 1, 2013. If the undertaking is suspended after January 1, 2013, according to the law it has payment obligation for the given year.
